1969 Vietnam war

In Cambodia, the U.S. hoped to find the enemy’s headquarters and its long-awaited battle where it could fully utilize all its power in these armored units, among other weapons, stationed in Vietnam in a defensive position. .

The two neutral neighbors of South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, were unable to contain 1969 Vietnam warthe aggression against its communist guerrillas and failed to cut the Ho Chi Minh trail that had been important in preparing the major offensive. If the United States claimed that its partner could survive a war with the North it had to cut the pathways of infiltration and, incidentally, the Army Barracks.

In early 1969 the newly elected Richard Nixon began a secret bombing campaign over Laos and Cambodia. The pilots had to take off, go to a specific position and await orders. Once in position controllers gave them the coordinates to be attacked.

The same drivers should destroy any documents about these incursions into neutral territory. Despite all the precautions, in less than a month the New York Times had published news about these documents (leaked by members of the Air Force unhappy with these operations).

According to the 1986 edition of the Guinness Book of Records, Laos was the most bombed country on the planet with several megatons of conventional bombs. The bombing is pursuing a tactical objective, cutting the Ho Chi Minh trail.
