The beginning of the Vietnam war

The Vietnam War seems to have become a war for historians who have studied this conflict. The South Vietnamese army is called ARVN (Army of the Republic of Vietnam).

The North Vietnamese army is abbreviated with the acronym, EVN (North Vietnamese The beginning of the Vietnam warArmy). A battling communist guerrillas in South Vietnam was cataloged as Viet Cong (Vietnamese Communist). The Viet Minh was a nationalist army that fought against French colonialism in Indochina.

The History of Vietnam began 2,700 years ago. Successive Chinese dynasties ruled Vietnam from 1111 BC to 938 AD, in which the Vietnamese achieved their independence. Vietnam remained a state that paid tribute to China for centuries but managed to repel the numerous invasions of China as well as the three Mongol incursions between 1255 and 1285. Vietnamese King Tran Nhan Tong used his diplomatic skills to achieve a peace agreement.

Vietnam agreed to pay tributes to China to avoid further clashes. This period of relative independence ended in the mid-nineteenth century when the country was colonized by the French empire. During World War II, Japan’s imperialism drove the French to occupy the Indochinese peninsula, though they retained French administrators to keep the wheels of the colony.

After the war, France wanted to restore its colonial rule but failed in the attempt. The Geneva conference divided the country into two halves with the promise of democratic elections to be held to reunite the country.
